A Tribute to the Late Peter Hawley

Peter Hawley, known to many as Pete Meadows, was a devoted husband, father of two, and proud grandfather of three. Married for 50 years to his childhood sweetheart, his life was a testament to love, loyalty, and family — values that shaped everything he did.
An accomplished radio host and DJ, Peter was renowned for his engaging on-air presence and deep connection with his listeners. Broadcasting under the name Pete Meadows, he dedicated decades to sharing his passion for soul music with audiences across Tameside and around the world through Love Soul Radio London. His warm, authentic style and unmistakable voice made him a respected and cherished figure within the soul music community.
A beloved feature of his show was “Loz’s 3,” a weekly segment lovingly curated by his wife, who selected three special songs to be played on air. The feature beautifully reflected Peter’s two greatest passions: music and family, blending them in a way that resonated deeply with his audience.

Throughout his career, Peter generously supported charitable causes, performed at festivals, and championed emerging artists by giving them invaluable airtime on his shows. He believed in lifting others up, using his platform to help new talent find their voice and reach new listeners.
Peter’s legacy endures not only in the music he shared, but in the countless lives he touched, the artists he encouraged, and the vibrant community he helped to build. He will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication, and the soulful soundtrack he provided to so many lives.
